Accelerated B.S. in Computer Science and Master of Business Administration
The accelerated B.S. in Computer Science and Master of Business Administration provides exceptional undergraduates with the opportunity to obtain both a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Master of Business Administration in a shorter time than typically required to earn a B.S. plus M.B.A. if both degrees are pursued separately. The goal of the program is to produce graduates with a broad, solid grounding in both Computer Science and Business Administration to enable the graduate for an advanced position in industry.
Admission to the MBA program
A student can apply to the graduate school and be admitted to the MBA program upon earning a >= 3.000 GPA in at least 75 credit hours of their undergraduate degree program in computer science. Application should be made prior to completion of the B.S. degree. Prior to being admitted to the MBA program, applicants must have a member of KSU’s Graduate Faculty in the College of Business Administration agree to be their major professor (this can be changed in accordance with K-State’s policies).
Program Guidelines
The student must complete all requirements of the B.S. in computer science and all requirements of the MBA. Included in the B.S. degree program must be six hours of economics. The student may include up to nine hours of graduate credit from the MBA program to satisfy unrestricted electives, upper division electives, and/or tech electives, as appropriate, for the B.S. in computer science. These courses must be chosen from the following courses from the Data Analytics concentration area for the MBA program:
- CIS 731 Programming Techniques for Data Science and Analytics
- CIS 732 Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition
- MIS 665 Business Analytics and Data Mining
- MIS 670 Social Media Analytics and Web Mining
